Hitoritabi #NewNormal #A2Z

Hitoritabi

(Japanese)- Traveling alone, solitary journey

When there was nowhere to go outside

no arrivals and departures

the entire journey had to be

turned inside

to the never-ending quest

who am I?

Do I really need all that I thought I did?

Do I really love all that I assumed I must?

What are the essentials?

What are the frills?

A solo trip like no other

alone with myself

in my own knowing

for the first time

I delved.

  1. A beautiful journey though all alone, but is bound to take us to the real-us. And yes, that is the place where we actually belong. Wonderful expression, Pooja.

  2. That's a beautiful expression. A journey with self to understand the inner-self is the best. Lovely poem.

  4. It is a beautiful poem Pooja. We seem, in the isolation of lockdown, to be alone, and perhaps we can explore ourselves differently, but lacking the mirror which other people provide for us, we cannot see ourselves reflected which normally, I think perhaps, teaches us more than solitary introspection. Certainly our usual gregarious state suggests that we are not, and not meant to be, islands...

  6. So true. This experience really has allowed for a level of re-evaluation that may not have occurred without the pandemic although hopefully we are emerging out of it soon. Weekends In Maine
