Buddha & I
They came pouring
with labels
accusatory looks
with labels
accusatory looks
jibes
raised eyebrows
poison-tipped words
the Buddha
in the beating lotus
awakens
smiles
holds me tight
repeats
-let it go.
I pity the anguish
I forgive their spite
The palm carrying a burning coal for me
must be burning inside
Shanti!
Shanti!
Shanti!
I lean over
to a smiling child
a cup of tea
and pray for the
fanged tribe.

Snippets
Pauses
brief, extended
they are answers.

Silence
heavy like lead settles
sinks the heart.

Words
change meanings
like snakes shed skins.
**************************
Monologues
echo in the soul
To be or not to be.

Dialogues
essence lost
in between the lines.

Two blue ticks
and the anxious wait.
