Holding onto the last straw
as they say
with my sweaty shaking hands

trying to calm the pacing breath
the shivering in my spine

I step out
with a rebel body and mind
mine yet not mine

I am not your "normal"
but equal
if the scale to measure
is not blind to mental health
and we are all partly functional !

  3. What a creative way to write about anxiety. A simple poem to describe a complex and tangled problem.
Anxiety is something that is not taken seriously by people and that needs to change. This is something people need to start talking about. And what better way to initiate that than a poem? :)
