Chutzpah #NewNormal #A2Z

(Yiddish) adopting a ‘don’t-take-no-for-an-answer’ attitude

So it was here to stay

I looked it in the eye

in the quiet of many nights

amidst the lonely panic

in the middle of an anxiety attack

it stood firm

testing all I had!

A year later

it stands firm again

in that dark spot

in my bedroom and my heart

and I stand where I do

surviving every day

not on air

just chutzpah!

This is my 6th #AtoZ, read the posts from previous challenges HERE.

  1. Chutzpah attitude, to stand by pandemic as well as life...
    Lovely Poem

  2. Definitely got by on Chutzpah for the last year. Stopping by from A to Z.

  3. Much needed attitude, I must say! :)

  4. I think your attitude will get you through this second surge. Honestly it is really trying everyone's patience and this kind of devil may care is the best way to face it.

  5. Didn't know the Yiddish meaning.
Remembered the dialogue from 'Pink' movie- "No means No".

  6. The poem reminds me of a phrase "not today" - it's quite an intense doggedness. I'll get through because I have to.

  7. Wow! Priya--kudos for the chutzpah and poetic flair.

  8. Love this use of Chutzpah! Have sent the link to my sister who is recovering from Covid...

  9. Chutzpah it is! This should be the keyword for 2021 as well. The pandemic is doing its best to wreck things for us. Love the poem.

  10. Chutzpah -- that's how we push forward through life! And through the A to Z Challenge :-) My letter C post is along those lines as well.

  11. We all need Chutzpah to survive I guess in darker times, in melancholy times in times where hope eludes us. This is deep !

  12. Chutzpah, the right word for all of us to survive these gloomy days! Your poem is so apt and readable!

  13. Absolutely needed on a daily basis!

  14. It's all about survival now, is it not? Nicely rendered poem :-)

  15. You're speakign of resiliance, are you not?

The Old Shelter - The Great War

  16. Interesting how it lost the negative connotation over time.

  17. I love this word for today; and have it heard used a lot in books I read as well as on screen..
    and love your poem too

  18. You say a lot in a few words!

  19. Great word choice! Thanks for visiting and best of luck for the rest of the challenge. Stephanie -
